Women in parliament in 2017-The year in review

This document presents an annual report on women in parliament in 2017-The year in review. This report provides an update and analysis of progress made and setbacks encountered by women in parliament further to elections and renewals held over a year. Produced every year on the occasion of International Women's Day (8 March), it presents data on women in national parliaments, regional and world trends, information on women presiding officers and women candidates. It also analyses mechanisms aimed at supporting women's access to parliament. The report is short and easy to read, providing a snapshot on the situation of women in parliaments worldwide.

Women’s economic empowerment-Boosting female entrepreneurship in Africa

This document presents a report on Women’s economic empowerment-Boosting female entrepreneurship in Africa. Women’s economic empowerment is a process through which their capital (human, financial and physical) endowments increase along with their access to and benefits from economic opportunities, leading to improved agency and voice. Improving women’s labour market skills and increasing their financial and physical assets can not only empower women directly, but also improve their access to decent employment, with higher wages, better career prospects and competitive business performance.

This book presents a guide on clinical Management of Rape Survivors, Developing protocols for use with refugees and internally displaced persons. This guide includes detailed guidance on the clinical management of women, men and children who have been raped. It is intended for use by qualified health-care providers in developing protocols for the management of rape survivors in emergencies, taking into account available resources, materials, and drugs, and national policies and procedures. It can also be used in planning health-care services and training health-care providers.

Gender-Based Violence in Populations Affected by Armed Conflict-A Field Guide for Displaced Settings

This short document addresses the gender-based violence in populations affected by armed conflicts. It is divided into the following sections: Gender-based violence and armed conflict; Rape as a weapon of war; Displacement and domestic violence; Displacement and sexual exploitation; HIV/AIDS, conflict, and gender-based violence; We can make a difference. The document was produced by The Gender-Based Violence Global Technical Support Project of the RHRC Consortium, which provides a wide range of information, training, and support to field programs.
