Ministry of Trade and Industry: Industry and Trade Development Strategy: 2016-2020

This strategy includes several feasible ambitious goals that can be linked to the related sectoral strategies and development initiatives at the level of all the governorates. This strategy will be followed by a detailed implementation plan that specifies how to implement each program and project and include an advanced system for monitoring and evaluation. This strategy and its goals will be reviewed based on the developments of the Egyptian economy and the fluctuations in the global market if necessary in order re-correct the path. This strategy is a product of the joint efforts and fruitful consultations that began and will remain with all the concerned parties, whether they are relevant governmental bodies, or business community, private sector, civil society, development partners, or members of the Egyptian parliament. It is also developed in light of the strategies and plans previously prepared by the former ministers. The implementation of this document requires collaboration, strong determination and sincere hard work that aims at the development and welfare of the country.

Plan International Egypt: Addendum to Country Strategy 2016-2020

Plan International Egypt’s (PiE) Country Strategy “Shaping futures & Changing lives” sets out the main strategic programming, operational and resourcing objectives plus approaches for Plan in Egypt for the period FY16 to FY20; some specific areas of adjustments, reflected in this document, have been identified to bring this CSP fully in line with the global strategy. This document provides a summary of findings from the gender analysis and presents the aligned version of the strategic programme framework and presents the programmatic approaches PiE will follow, and organizational strengthening it will undertake. and provides a summary of the financial resource mobilisation strategies.

The Legal Texts: The Results of the Uruguay Round of Multilateral Trade Negotiations

This volume contains the texts of each of the agreements reached at the conclusion of the Uruguay Round in December 1993. It also contains the related decisions taken at the same time and those taken later at the Ministerial Meeting in Marrakesh in April 1994. The Final Act of the Uruguay Round and the Marrakesh Agreement Establishing the World Trade Organization (the WTO Agreement) were signed at the Marrakesh Ministerial Meeting. In addition, some delegations signed one or more of the four plurilateral agreements referred to in Annex 4 of the WTO Agreement.

Treaty Establishing the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa “COMESA”

This Treaty Establishing the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa “COMESA” aims : to attain sustainable growth and development of the Member States by promoting a more balanced and harmonious development of its production and marketing structures and to promote joint development in all fields of economic activity and the joint adoption of macro-economic policies and programmes to raise the standard of living of its peoples and to foster closer relations among its Member States and to co-operate in the creation of an enabling environment for foreign, cross border and domestic investment including the joint promotion of research and adaptation of science and technology for development and to co-operate in the promotion of peace, security and stability among the Member States in order to enhance economic development in the region and to co-operate in strengthening the relations between the Common Market and the rest of the world and the adoption of common positions in international fora and to contribute towards the establishment, progress and the realisation of the objectives of the African Economic Community.

Employment policies and active labour market programmes in Tunisia

This report was drafted by Sami Zouari in July 2013 in Sfax and Tunis. Besides the desk review and statistical data analysis, 22 stakeholders – representatives of government offices, social partners (trade unions and employer organisations), donors, and civil society – were interviewed to gather their opinions on the country’s employment policies and programmes. The report provides an overview of current employment policies and active labour market programmes in the country, and a qualitative assessment of their results and outcomes.
